Mao Junfa, the president of Shenzhen Universityandan academician of Chinese Academy of Science, received the National Pioneer Innovation Award in Beijing on May 30th, as China celebrated its 7thNational Science and Technology Workers Day.

Co-presented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology,andthe State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), the award recognizes excellence in any field pertaining to “frontier areas ofscience, national core demands, people’s health, and social services.”

Seven teams and 277 individuals won the honor, including over 50 outstanding scholars.
