On May 22, the launch ceremony of Dubai Chambers "China Innovation Centre" was held at the headquarters of Dubai Chambers. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, Qian Qian, Vice President of CCPIT Jiangsu Sub-council, Zhang Jianwei, Vice President of Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce and Head of Dubai Chambers' "China Innovation Centre", and more than 50 entrepreneurs who came to China participated in the launch ceremony.
During the event, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah made an opening speech. As a natural partner to achieve the goals of the Belt and Road Initiative, Dubai has the logistics infrastructure and strategic location along the New Silk Road, ensuring easy access to markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, he said. This is why leading Chinese companies such as Huawei, Tencent and DJI have chosen to invest in Dubai to establish their Middle East and North Africa hubs. The Dubai Chambers established the Dubai Chamber China Innovation Centre and made it a key pillar of the Dubai Global. The centre will be dedicated to developing a new chapter of economic and technological cooperation between China and Dubai.
Qian Qian made a speech and stressed that Jiangsu and the UAE have strong economic complementarity, maintain good cooperative relations for a long time, and have great potential and broad prospects for cooperation in artificial intelligence, information and communication, Internet finance, clean energy, transportation and logistics. CCPIT Jiangsu Sub-council is willing to work with Dubai Chambers to continuously improve the working mechanism of overseas contact centers, build new channels for international economic and trade exchanges between Chinese and Arab enterprises, promote openness and win-win cooperation, build new heights of service trade cooperation, and draw a new blueprint for international production capacity cooperation under the concept of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits.
Zhang Jianwei fully elaborated the process and objectives of the establishment of the centre in his speech, stressing that the Dubai Chambers "China Innovation Centre" will become an important display window and business development platform for Chinese technology-based and innovative enterprises in the GCC region. The center will provide one-stop services such as product display, business promotion, government promotion, media release and corporate financing for representative enterprises belonging to characteristic industrial clusters and industry associations in Chinese provinces and municipalities.
