Saint Paul is located in the southeastern state of Saint Paulo, Brazil. It is the largest city in the southern hemisphere and the financial center of Brazil and Latin America.
The city covers an area of 1522 square kilometers and has a population of nearly 22 million (2023), belonging to a subtropical humid climate.
2、Key industries and highlights
Industry: Saint Paulo is the largest industrial city in Brazil, accounting for about half of the country's total industrial value. Mainly engaged in steel, automobiles, aircraft, electronics, chemistry, and machinery equipment, with traditional industries such as textiles, food, papermaking, cement, and oil refining.
Finance: The Saint Paulo Stock Exchange and Futures Trading Market are the largest stock exchanges and futures trading markets in Latin America. Many internationally renowned banks have their headquarters in Brazil and the headquarters of major domestic banks are located in Saint Paulo.
Research: Saint Paulo State is the state with the highest concentration of scientific and technological research institutions, the largest number of scientific and technological personnel, the strongest research capabilities, and the highest level of scientific research in the country. Among them, the "Institute of Technology" located in Saint Paulo is the most famous and the highest level technology research institution in Latin America.
Exhibition: Saint Paulo is the largest exhibition city in Brazil and even South America, hosting hundreds of international exhibition events every year. Saint Paulo has several large exhibition centers, among which the North Exhibition Center, Immigration Exhibition Center, Anianbin Park, and Pan American Exhibition Center are the most famous.
Football: There are three major football clubs in the city of Saint Paulo, known as the "Big Three of Saint Paulo", namely Saint Paulo, Corinthians, and Palmeiras. Among them, Saint Paulo Football Club is a fairly old Brazilian football powerhouse, often nicknamed the Tri color Team by its fans. Sao Paulo has won the Copa Libertadores three times and the Club World Cup three times.
3、Review of Interactions with Shenzhen
On April 27, 2007, the two cities officially established a friendly exchange city.
In October 2011, the then mayor Xu Qin led a delegation to Saint Paulo to hold the "China Shenzhen (Brazil Saint Paulo) Economic and Trade Promotion and Exchange Conference".
On November 24, 2016, the Shenzhen Sao Paulo Investment Cooperation Exchange Conference was held in Sao Paulo city.
On July 28, 2017, the then mayor of Sao Paulo, João Doria, and his delegation visited Shenzhen.
In May 2020, our city donated 30000 masks to Sao Paulo to support Sao Paulo in combating the COVID-19.
On October 26, 2022, the "2022 China (Shenzhen, Hong Kong) - Brazil (Sao Paulo) Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference" was successfully held.
On April 3, 2023, Shenzhen Airport held a signing event with Cainiao, and the first Cainiao air cargo center in China, jointly built by both parties, will be officially put into operation at Shenzhen Airport. As a supporting measure for deepening cooperation between both parties, Shenzhen Airport has jointly opened the "Shenzhen Sao Paulo" cargo charter flight route with Cainiao.
