On May 9, Director General Cao Saixian of Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office met with Luigi Gambardella, President of ChinaEU, accompanied by Jiao Yu, Director of ChinaEU, and Claudio Valdetara, Marketing Director of Rhea Vendors Group. The two sides exchanged ideas about new retail, digital transformation, scientific and technological innovation, etc. Representative from Shenzhen Commerce Bureau and Zhao Huizhou, the founder of Eachway Fashion Group, also attended the meeting.

Director General Cao welcomed the delegation and introduced the direction and concept of high-quality development which is Shenzhen’s focus in the new development stage and Shenzhen’s industrial development strategy as well as the progress in the establishment of the World Innovative Cities Cooperation Organization. She said that Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office will serve as a bridge between Shenzhen and foreign countries, actively helping foreign enterprises and institutions including ChinaEU to precisely access various resources of our city and jointly building a platform for further cooperation.

Mr. Gambardella praised Shenzhen's good atmosphere and foundation in scientific and technological innovation and hoped to take the opportunity of jointly building the World Innovative Cities Cooperation Organization, give full play to the role of ChinaEU as a platform to mobilize all kinds of innovative entities in Europe, organize more activities around smart cities, digital transformation and other themes, and carry out international innovation cooperation.

Mr.Valdetara briefly introduced the development history, digital transformation and scientific and technological innovation of Rhea Vendors Group. He said that the company focuses on cutting-edge design and technological innovation. In view of Shenzhen's good innovation ecology, it is considering opening an Asia Pacific R&D center in Shenzhen, hoping to carry out more exchanges and cooperation with Shenzhen, and strengthen Shenzhen's ties with Milan, Italy and even Europe.
