Program Overview:

Our Smart Cities program is one for those of you looking to discover smart solutions to city design and urban-tech utilization.

This program will help you explore the issues that face cities around the world, mainly due to an unprecedented growth of population and urbanization over the last few decades. With the 2020 pandemic also impacting, you’ll learn why the smartification of cities has fast become an urgent and essential issue.

Spark your curiosity with insights into the design of human-technology interfaces. In turn , you’ll understand the beliefs we constantly form and update, while deep-diving into the relationships we create with apps, bots, machines, and with other people. Get an understanding, for example, of how pedestrian cognition is affected by new modes of sensation, perception, behavioral intentions and actual behaviors.

You’ll learn how the interactions we experience in a city affect future behavioral patterns, and how the appropriation of the smart city by its citizens is a major component of urban-tech utilization. Using Tel Aviv as the backdrop - Tel Aviv was crowned “The Smartest City In The World” in 2014* - you’ll also explore how to integrate urban data from different sources, as urban life transforms increasingly into digital life. Expect some compelling insights into the current human condition in relation to the cities in which we live, from economic, ecological, and societal aspects.

Program Highlights:

l Discover insights and solutions to an ever-growing challenge at one of the world’s best universities.

l Enjoy a diverse, international online classroom, with top students from across the world bringing their own Smart City experiences from their own cities, towns, and environments.
