The opening ceremony of 2023 Beyond Expo was held in Macao on 10 October. The 3-day Expo integrated cutting-edge technology exhibitions, guest speakers, industry vertical forums, international investment and financing summit, annual science and technology awards, etc., to create a science and technology carnival.

At the opening ceremony, Ho Iat Seng, the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region said that the SAR government is actively promoting the "1+4" appropriate diversified development strategy, of which high-tech is an important part. Macao hopes to cooperate with the development blueprint of the Greater Bay Area, help the Greater Bay Area build a global scientific and technological innovation highland, and play a unique role in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.

Wan Gang, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, said in his speech that the Expo has built an international exchange platform for communication and cooperation between Chinese and world enterprises, and injected new energy into future scientific and technological innovation in China and even Asia.

According to reports, nearly 100,000 square meters of exhibition area, around the three sub-brands of sustainable development, life science, consumer technology set up sub-forums and exhibition areas, to explore technological innovation and industrial applications, display cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements, stimulate the innovation value chain, and jointly look forward to the future of global scientific and technological innovation.

Scientific and technological innovation needs financial help, BEYOND brings together the star of Enlightenment, Brazil (Brazil) Portugal (Portugal) technology enterprises, Tsinghua alumni three innovation competition and other fields of innovation roadshow and investment and financing matchmaking, to help more start-ups grow rapidly. The 16 enterprises in the global incubation network of the Star of Enlightenment conducted a live roadshow on the afternoon of the same day.

The organizers said that the expo set up four industry summits around investment and financing, consumer technology, sustainable development and life science, inviting industry leaders to talk about industrial development and change. The theme of this year's expo is "Heavy Science and Technology", organized by the Macau Technology General Association.
