Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen (RITS) was jointly established by Shenzhen Municipal Government and Tsinghua University in December 1996. It is an institutional organization operated in an enterprise mode. 

RITS is positioned to serve as an arm of Tsinghua University to promote the technological, economic and social development in local region, also as a cradle for high-tech companies in South China. Scrupulously abiding by Tsinghua University’s motto of “Self-discipline and Social Commitment” and the Shenzhen’s spirit of “bravery and compatibility”, RITS has developed its unique philosophy coring at institutional and mechanism innovation, as well as effective growth strategies, thus made remarkable progresses and achievements in many aspects.
