ABOUT

Macao, officially known as the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is located on the western side of the Pearl River estuary in southern China. It is a water and land transport hub between mainland China and the South China Sea, adjacent to Guangdong Province, and 60 kilometers away from Hong Kong and 145 kilometers away from Guangzhou. Macao consists of the Macao Peninsula, Taipa, and Coloane, with a total land area of 32.9 square kilometers. As of the end of 2020, the total population was 683,200.

 

In terms of technological innovation, in order to leverage Macao's role as a Sino-Portuguese platform and develop it into an important support point for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center and the Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, activities such as the "2022 Macao Portuguese-speaking Countries Science and Technology Enterprises Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" and the "2022 Science and Technology Week and Innovation and Technology Achievements Exhibition" have been held to promote the cooperation and linkage of Sino-Portuguese technological innovation, and to help promote technology and build a platform for the transformation of Macao's scientific research achievements and industry-academia-research cooperation.
